While an individual can identify with the gender they were assigned to at birth, like how Tomo identifies as female and not male, everyone is different in how they present themselves within society. The term "tomboy" is often used to describe an individual like Tomo, but this is only one of many diverse ways to express one's gender. She dresses more like a boy, and because of this and her larger stature, she is often mistaken for a boy. ![]() ![]() The dilemma here is that Tomo doesn't dress or express her female gender in a way typical of her peers. The whole premise of this series is for Tomo to show off her femininity to attract her best friend, who is presumably straight, and start a romantic relationship with him, without objectifying herself in the process.
